Carl Capitaine 

Carl Capitaine is an MPhil Candidate in the Justice and Transformation program at the University of Cape Town.

Approaching concerns around transitional justice from a decolonial queer feminist vantage point, they strive to intersect systematic human rights violations with the lived experiences of the black queer body in times of peace and conflict. In Prioritizing the role of non-normative gender identities and sexual orientations, the hope is to highlight the silences around queer violence in the binary world of gender and transitional justice.
