Catalina is a psychologist and studied a masters degree in social politics and community action from the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona.
Catalina has worked in different entities of the public sector such as the Unidad para la Atención y Reparación a las Víctimas and the department in charge of victims of the armed conflict in the Mayor’s Office of Bogotá, where she worked to promote community participation and inter-institutional articulation. As a freelance human rights consultant, she has worked with several UN agencies in matters related to the migration crisis.
