Maria Teresa is a Co-Investigator on the Transitional Justice and Memory theme together with Pete Manning.
She is Assistant Professor in Research Methods and the Colombian civil war at the Instituto de Estudios Políticos y Relaciones Internacionales at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia (Bogotá). Since 2008, Maria Teresa has been the Director of the Observatory on Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reintegration at IEPRI. She is also a Co-Investigator on the MEMPAZ project, which works with marginalised communities in Colombia to produce creative memories through processes like photography, theatre and cooking and to share these in more formal transitional justice spaces. Maria-Teresa is interested in the complexities of confronting the past in Colombia and is committed to collaborative research processes to ensure that victims memories and experiences are heard and inform transitional justice and peacebuilding processes.
