The Early Sign of the Khmer Rouge Atrocity: Recalling Memory of M-13 through Documentary Film

Kol Pichvicheka

Ms. Kol Sovanpichvichek has been a Junior Filmmaker at the Bophana Center since 2023 and works other projects related to Cambodian genocide education, documentary trainings, and film festivals (CIFF), translating (English and Khmer), subtitling, camera work, and editing. 

She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Law at the Royal University of Law and Economics and due to her interest in filmmaking and video making, she has produced a few videos and documentary films. She was awarded as a 3rd prize winner through a video competition submitted to the German Embassy in Phnom Penh in 2019 and two documentary films through her participation in the Bophana Center’s project entitled, “Visualizing the Mekong: Stimulating Youth’s Participation and Engagement Through Documentary Films”. The Bophana Centre’s project was funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), with support from BBC Media Action.
