Simon Glasser

Simon Glasser is a member of the University of Bristol’s Research Development team. He provides advice on national and international funding opportunities and supports the development of international partnerships.

Working with an academic steering group Simon currently manages the University’s global challenges research strategy. This aims to build equitable and sustainable relationships with international partners in the global south. This includes working to reduce the barriers to international collaboration and promoting fair partnerships within Bristol and the UK higher education sector. As well as commissioning internal networking, research and impact activities he provides bid coordination for Official Development Assistance (ODA) programmes.

Simon sits on the University’s Safeguarding in Research working group. He is the co-lead of SMARTLife, an African Academy of Sciences/ARMA project, which is supporting mutual capacity-development between African and UK institutions.

Before joining the University Simon worked at the Arts and Humanities Research Council where he managed and developed funding schemes.
